A path to photo retouching

“My grandmother was a famous painter who founded the Kuching Art Club in 1949. My mother and father are both talented artists in their own right, so it was a natural progression for me to also create imagery and art.
I loved drawing when I was a child – a liberating and lawless affair! Could an untold story, lurking somewhere in the subconscious, manifest itself into being, right in front of your very eyes? I discovered – to my delight – that it could!
By the time I was in secondary school the digital era was pretty well established. I remember making all sorts of strange collages and exploding self-portraits with even the earliest forms of personal computer, regardless of software. A throwback perhaps to the painstaking efforts required when learning to hand finish an image.
As the years progressed, and the software got exponentially more developed, I’ll admit to being utterly captivated by the range of new tools and techniques that could produce meticulous detail with much ease and haste!
Since then, I’ve enjoyed over two decades of image and art creation working as a professional retoucher.”
